Ambassador's Choice: Essential Gear for Speed and Nordic Conditions
Choosing the right kit for the unpredictable Northern climate is an art form. To help you navigate the range, we’ve teamed up with our ambassador Patric Alm—better known as "Voidmannen." Here, he shares his personal favorites and his best tips on how to maximize both style and performance in the saddle.
Words by Patric Alm
Hello fellow cyclists! I often get asked which pieces I actually wear the most and why. For me, cycling is about a feeling as much as it is about performance—the clothes need to fit perfectly, look sharp, and perform whether it’s a 5-degree spring morning or a scorching summer day. Here are my thoughts on the standout pieces in our collection.
For Speed and Race Day Vibes: Velto & Vortex
Velto Jersey & Bibs – The Fast Combination I love the Velto Jersey because it feels incredibly fast. The sleeve length is spot on and the waist cut is perfectly balanced. While it works great with black Granite or Vortex bibs, it’s best paired with the Velto Bibs for the full look. These bibs offer a tight, "pro" fit while maintaining great mobility. The padding is superb, allowing for long hours in the saddle without discomfort.

Pro Tip: Always fold up the leg grippers before pulling your bibs on. This prevents unnecessary stress on the seams and ensures your kit lasts much longer.
Vortex Jersey – Clean and Bold Vortex is the go-to jersey for those who prefer a tight, race-ready fit. The design is clean yet bold. While black is always a safe bet, the red and mint green versions are fantastic during the summer when you want to add some color to the peloton.

Mid-Season Heroes: Pure 2.0 & ID Zip
Pure 2.0 – Tailored for the Nordic Spring and Autumn The Pure 2.0 is my choice for those classic evening rides where the temperature drops toward the end. It has a slightly more relaxed fit than the race jerseys, making it perfect for everyday training. If I know I’m going for a high-intensity session with fast friends, I’ll pick the Velto, but for everything else, the Pure is king.
The long-sleeved version is a game-changer when you know arm warmers will be staying on for the entire ride. It provides a more seamless, warmer feel than a summer jersey combined with separate sleeves.
ID Zip Cycling Jacket – The 5-10°C Specialist This is easily my most-worn jacket during the transition seasons. The fit is excellent and it’s incredibly versatile. If it’s 5 degrees out, I wear a base layer underneath; if it’s over 10 degrees, a light sleeveless base layer is enough.

A Note on Storage: The back pockets are generous—perfect for extra tubes—but if you carry your phone there, make sure it’s secure if you plan on bunny-hopping fallen trees or sprinting for city signs!

Beating the Elements: Bore Zip & Reflective Vest
Bore Zip – Conquer the Winter Let’s face it, the North is cold. The Bore Zip is my lifesaver during the winter months. It’s warm yet designed to allow a base layer underneath without feeling bulky or flappy. Whether you’re grinding out distance on the road or exploring gravel paths with friends, this jacket keeps the cold at bay.
Reflective Cycling Vest – Safety Meets Style This is the ultimate commuting vest. It’s cut to fit over a standard jacket without being loose. The best part? You get incredible visibility without having to wear a traditional "high-vis" vest. If you want to stay safe and stylish in the dark, this is for you.

Smart Essentials
Cycling Vest: A vest should be simple and packable, and that’s exactly what this is. It breaks the wind and disappears into a jersey pocket when not needed. A must-have for coffee stops or rides with falling temperatures. The double zipper is a huge plus, allowing you to unzip from the bottom to easily reach your phone for a quick photo.
Knee Warmers: I find myself using these more and more. At around 15 degrees, knee warmers feel sleeker than full leg warmers and keep you feeling fast. A staple for any spring or autumn wardrobe.
Ride on! /Patric @Voidmannen
